Renton Municipal Arts Commission is Seeking Volunteer Members

You are invited to attend the next meeting of the Renton Municipal Arts Commission, on Tuesday, February 3rd at 4:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the Conference Center on the 7th floor of Renton City Hall at 1055 South Grady Way in Renton. This will be an opportunity to meet current Commissioners and learn more about the RMAC. If you are interested in being considered for a position, but cannot attend this meeting, please respond back. If you would like to attend, it would be helpful to also respond, as we plan on having light refreshments available and it would aid in planning the meeting. Thank you!

The Renton Municipal Arts Commission (RMAC), a City of Renton Commission founded in 1965, is seeking volunteer members. The RMAC acts in an advisory capacity to the City of Renton administration to further the art and cultural development of the City. It is responsible for selecting the design and supervising the execution, siting, and installation of works of art funded or otherwise acquired by the City. The RMAC is looking for candidates with a wide range of skills (not necessarily artists), who are highly motivated self-starters, yet can work within a team, and who reflect the City’s diversity. Successful candidates will be expected to exercise patience and have a sense of humor. Renton residency is not a requirement for all positions and one new member will be under the age of 21. The RMAC meets monthly. The term would commence in April 2015 and run for three years.

If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your interest in the Renton Municipal Arts Commission!
